There should be a bolt on either side of the metal frame. Take these out and push the plastic clips in. The box will then go back far enough for you to get the relay off and the new one on.

How do I change the intermittent wiper relay in my 2003 Ford Focus?
I can see the relay in the glovebox, but there is a welded metal plate in the way so I cant remove it! Do I need to detach the fusebox, just to get the fuse out? And if so, isn;t that the most ridiculous design ever?!How do I change the intermittent wiper relay in my 2003 Ford Focus?
