Start the car or even switch on ignition and then switch off again, and within 3 seconds, operate the wiper switch upwards, the wiper arms will move to middle of windscreen (service position) so you could work on it. Set them working with the ignition on and when they are in a position to change the blades switch off the ignition. They should stay there until you switch on again.
