Wipers how to fix the wipers?

When you turn the wipers on they will work but when you turn them off they go to the paused position for a sec then they go to an almost vertical position and stay there !!!! When you turn them back on they will operate normally until you turn them off and they end up staying in the vertical position. This started when we had a snowfall.. Could they have gotten jammed with ice or snow and damaged the park position. What is the cure ? Does the motor have to be changed or is there a simplier solution?Wipers how to fix the wipers?
I think I'd start with easy in diagnosing this. If they are working I don't think it's the motor. I have seen in rare circumstances where the nut that holds the wiper arm to the car (bottom of wiper) becomes loose. If this is the case, there would be enough friction to make it work, but it could have the arm rotating on the stud. See if you can move the arm with the car off. That might be all it is.Wipers how to fix the wipers?
could be the motor, could be the electrical switch detecting the stored position, could be the electronics determining movement.

A qualified repair shop should be able to tell in minutes and fix it quickly.

If it's just the switch, and it's your dealership, they might even do it for free as those things cost hardly anything at all.Wipers how to fix the wipers?
I have a mazda mpv and these cars are notorious for bad wipers. most of the time it is an electronic problem, mine are doing the same thing and i think the gears on the arms could be worn or just need tightening down. remove the arms and retighten that should take care of it.
